Recreation Passes & Permits

Swimming beach at Alexander SpringsMany recreation activities in the National Forests in Florida are free. Drive through the pitcher plant prairies of the Apalachee Savannas, camp amid the pines at Wiggins Camp or settle down on the edge of Redwater Lake and watch the sandhill cranes fly by at sunrise.

However, the Forest Service does charge some fees for the services provided at developed recreation areas such as our extensive network of OHV trails, our campgrounds, and our major springs and lakes.

To provide an affordable alternative for frequent forest visitors, or for those who come to stay with us for a week or two, we offer a variety of recreation passes and permits that help save money.
