OHV Trail Passes
Before you head out into the woods, make sure you get the right OHV pass.
3-day, 7-day and Annual Passes
All ATV and other off-road vehicle passes may be purchased online at Recreation.gov and printed at home.
Apalachicola and Ocala National Forests:
- $10 per person for 3-day passes
- $25 per person for 7-day passes
- $75 per person for annual passes good for one year from month of purchase
Roads open to OHVs on the Osceola National forest are free.
Riders aged 16 and under
All riders aged 16 and under must pass an online course in OHV safety before using our trails. Several state-approved agencies administer online and in-person courses. The ATV Safety Institute offers a free online course. All riders 16 and under must carry their course certification with them at all times.
Illegal Activities
The following activities are illegal in the national forests:
- Cross-country travel
- Mudding or destroying natural resources
- Cutting donuts in roads
- Creating your own trails
- Riding at night
- Drinking alcohol in day-use areas
- Riding double unless the vehicle is designed for more than one passenger, such as a utility vehicle
- Operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Please stay on designated trails and keep tread depth to a maximum of 1 inch. This will help prevent soil displacement and reduce trail maintenance costs.
Safety
- Wear appropriate safety gear, carry a first aid kit and ride with caution.
- Anticipate blind turns, hikers, down trees, other riders and horses. Trails are two-way and provide a primitive trail experience.
- Ride slowly and enjoy the view.
- Children under the age of 16 are required to wear a helmet, goggles and boots, attend a state-approved OHV safety course and be supervised by an adult.
Required Equipment, Title and Fees
- Forest Service-approved spark arrestors are required on all National Forest lands.
- The State of Florida requires OHVs to be titled to allow determination of ownership.
- Riders are required to possess a copy of a Florida OHV registration and identification while riding. Out-of-state riders without a Florida OHV title are required to possess proof of vehicle ownership. For more information on OHV riding in the state of Florida, please visit the Florida Forest Service.
