LAKEVIEW, Ore. – The emergency fire closure for the Ben Young Fire area on the Paisley Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest will be lifted effective Saturday, August 1.

Forest managers have determined that the fire is controlled and conditions are once again safe for the public to be in and around the area.

This reopens recreation areas including Moss Meadow Horse Camp, Moss Pass Trailhead and Campground, and the Fremont National Recreation Trail.

All the roads closed, including 3510-018 off Clover Flat Road, the 3510-019 and 31-122 roads to the north, and the 3510 and 3509 roads on the southern end, will reopen Saturday as well.

“We appreciate the public’s cooperation during the Ben Young Fire and we are happy to be able to reopen the area,” said Paisley and Silver Lake District Ranger Doug McKay.
