Central Oregon National Forests Advertising Business Opportunities for New Contractors

Lakeview, Oregon -The Fremont Winema National Forest, in conjunction with the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests, will be soliciting new contractors for Central Oregon Restoration Program (CORP) and Forest Engineering and Road Maintenance (FERM) Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) Web site at: 


All interested and qualified contractors can apply to be included on the various work activities included under the CORP or FERM BPAs. For potential local contractors to be selected they must meet selection criteria responses and have also submitted good relevant past performance documentation in their federal profile through System of Award Management (SAM)at:


Currently, contractors can apply for four activities within the FERM BPA being advertised in FedBizOpps until March 21. These activities include roadside brushing, road construction, minor structures and hazard tree removal. Additional activities within the FERM BPA, such as rock pit development and road decommissioning, will be opened at a later date.

Local businesses need to periodically check FedBizOpps to see what other Federal Government contracting opportunities are being publicized. Four activities within the CORP BPA are expected to be advertised in about two weeks. These activities include pre-commercial thinning, handpiling, grapple piling and mastication.

BPAs are used by U.S. Forest Service Contracting Officers to fill anticipated reoccurring needs for supplies, services and construction from approved vendors. They are reviewed annually to ensure they meet the needs of the government and changing market conditions.

The CORP and FERM BPAs were developed to create a pool of contractors, primarily from Oregon, that can provide a broad range of natural resource restoration treatment and road maintenance to National Forests in central Oregon.

When projects over $2,500 go out for bid, contractors can be solicited nationally or through the CORP or FERM, which only go out to the vendors on those lists.CORP and FERM BPAs are used for all projects that fit the criteria, including five-year term service work and ten-year stewardship contracts.
