Forest Road 25 Closure Delayed, FR 99 Closes Tuesday Sept. 4

Due to material delivery delays, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest has postponed a culvert replacement project announced in an earlier release slated to close Forest Road 25 at its extreme north end. Other developments will allow the replacement of a culvert crossing under FR 99 earlier than expected.

Forest Road 99
The FR 99 project will require its closure beyond milepost 11 Sept. 4-Oct. 5, 2012. This means road access to the east side of Mount St. Helens will be limited to Cascade Peaks and other popular destinations such as Meta Lake, Norway Pass and Bear Meadow. Windy Ridge, Spirit Lake and Independence Pass Trailhead will be inaccessible by FR 99. Forest Road 26 will remain open.

Forest Road 25
Closure: September 17th @ 7:00am

Reopens: September 27th @ 7:00am

Forest Road 25 will remain open from the south until snows close it for the winter season.
