Black Range Ranger District to hire a four-person seasonal Veteran Crew

Truth or Consequences, NM, January 31, 2018—For Immediate Release.  The Gila National Forest, Black Range Ranger District is hiring a four-person Veterans crew for the upcoming wildland fire season. This crew would complete fuels-related work and prescribed burning.

The requirements for this position are:

  • Must have at least three (3) years of military service

  • Must have an Honorable Discharge

  • Must have a current resume

  • Must have access to or being in possession of the DD-214

  • Must be able to pass the arduous Work Capacity Test (aka pack test) – which is completion of the walking test in under 45 minutes carrying a 45 pound pack
