Special Holiday Hours
Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is open year-round, including Christmas Eve (December 24), Christmas Day (December 25) and New Years Day (January 1). The Gila Visitor Center, however, will be closing at 12:30 p.m. on December 24th, and will be closed all day on December 25th and January 1st.

Winter Hours
The Cliff Dwellings are open year-round. During the winter, visitors may hike to the dwellings between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, and while the gate to the dwellings closes at 4:00 pm, visitors have another hour in which to complete their hike. A guided tour of the Cliff Dwellings is offered daily at 12:00 p.m. Visitors may also take the self-guided tour by obtaining a free copy of the Canyon Companion trail guide available at the trailhead. Persons planning to take a guided tour should begin hiking up from the trailhead contact station one-half hour before the guided tour start times.
Visitors can also join a ranger-naturalist for a guided tour of the Trail to the Past at Lower Scorpion Campground on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. This 1/4 mile walk offers visitors a chance to visit a small Mogollon alcove dwelling and a large pictograph panel.

The multi-agency Gila Visitor Center is generally open from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.
