- Help reduce overgrazing of grasslands, bring supplemental feed.
- Certified weed-free hay/feed is recommended to help prevent the spread of noxious and invasive weeds.
- Rotate stock throughout the area to reduce trampling and prevent overgrazing.
- Use tree saver straps with highlines to tie your stock, to prevent girdling of trees. Or use pickets, hobbles, or temporary, portable fences.
- Keep stock at least 200 feet from streams, lake shores, and camping areas.
- Break up and scatter horse manure and fill in pawed holes.
- Practice "Leave No Trace" principles: pack it out.
