Delta, CO, March 16, 2020 –

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests’ Gunnison Ranger District reminds all forest users to please respect private property and not trespass.

  • Residents in the Kebler Pass area, including the Floresta and Lake Irwin communities, have recently reported unauthorized motorized over snow travel onto private property.
  • A large amount of public recreation areas are adjacent to private property. Forest users are asked to consult posted trailhead maps to confirm their location and route of travel to ensure they do not trespass.
  • Recreationalist are also encouraged to download a mobile map application for use during backcountry travel. Two popular map app’s are www.cbgtrails.com and www.avenza.com which can be used with limited to no cellular service.
  • Responsible recreation practices are the duties of all public land users. Please help us be good neighbors.
  • For any questions please contact the Gunnison Ranger District at 970-641-0471.
