Forest Products
Prior to removing forest products for personal use from National Forest System lands, visitors are required to purchase a forest products permit. These permits must be purchased in person at a Forest Service office. For more information, click on one of the products listed below or contact the Ranger District in the area you plan to visit.

Mushrooms - Permits for mushroom collecting are available at the GMUG National Forest District Offices. Please contact the nearest district office for permit information. If you are collecting mushrooms for commercial purposes (more than 10 pounds), you must purchase a permit for the desired amount ($2.00 per pound). There is a minimum of 10 lbs. per commercial permit and a maximum of 150 lbs.
