Celebration Modification Due to Weather

 

MILFORD, PA, September 22, 2023—The two-day celebration to be held on September 23 and 24 at Grey Towers National Historic Site from 10am to 4pm is being modified due to weather. This family friendly weekend will be scaled down for visitor and staff safety.

Saturday September 23 is National Public Lands Day. Visitors can enjoy a free three floor mansion open house from 10am -4pm. In lieu of a mansion fee on Saturday, visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to a local food pantry. There will be free children's activities on the third floor of the mansion. There will be appearances by Smokey att 11am and Woodsy at 2pm.

Visitors can enjoy the 17th annual Festival of Wood, Sunday September 24. Guest can take advantage of a $5.00 three floor mansion open house (children eleven and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult). There will be free children’s activities on the third floor of the mansion. There will be appearances by smokey at 11am and woodsy at 2pm.

Activities to enjoy on the grounds both days include:

  • Free shuttle
  • children’s activities on the third floor in the mansion
  • Smokey and Woodsy appearances at 11am & 2pm in the mansion

 Due to weather conditions and safety concerns outdoor events including crafters and wood artisans, educational exhibitors, food vendors, and the ice-cream social are cancelled.
