Connecting community and nature through education

The Montana Discovery Foundation, established in 1999 as a Montana 501 c.3. non-profit organization, assists the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in the preservation of the historical, cultural and aesthetic integrity of the Forest. It was organized to involve citizens in conserving and enhancing natural resources within the forest and surrounding areas in order to achieve and maintain sustainable, healthy landscapes, resources, and communities.

The Montana Discovery Foundation serves as the public’s link to on-the-ground stewardship and conservation education in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. We work to get kids and adults outside, improve wildlife habitat and watershed health, promote responsible recreation, and interpret nature for students of all ages.
