Release Date: Jun 4, 2018   Cadillac, MI

Contact(s): Susan Blake

The Huron Shores Ranger Station of the Huron-Manistee National Forests is looking for volunteers to help with cleanup on the Huron Shores Ranger Station. The forest at times is targeted by vandals that dump rubbish on our National Forest System Lands. The Forest Service is seeking volunteers to help remove the rubbish.

On Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, please meet at the Huron Shores Ranger Station, 5761 North Skeel Avenue, Oscoda, MI 487450 (near the Memorial Flags on the old Wurtsmith Air Force Base). Please bring a lunch and wear work clothes. Some of the items dumped on the forest include used building materials (shingle, insulation and other materials).

This is a great day to get outside, enjoy the National Forest, and help clean the landscape. For additional information, please contact Randy Griffith at the Huron Shores Ranger Station at (989) 739-0728.
