Historical Maps

Historical maps, some dating from the early 20th century, are available at: http://nationalmap.gov/historical/index.html. (This link leaves the Hoosier NF website.)

Click on the Historical Topographic Map Collection link, then select the desired state and scale from the dropdowns. The earliest maps are found at scales no longer used, such as 1:48000.

Note that some maps that show up may indicate another state because the states overlap on the old maps.
