The Hoosier has published two books on the history of the Hoosier National Forest Region.

This book covers the 9-county region from 1600 to 1950. This 107 page book has 106 pictures and graphics and is a fascinating look back through three and a half centuries of south-central Indiana's history. When the book first came out copies were given to every school and library in the state. Now the book is sold through our office nature stores for $12.95 plus tax. |

This companion book looks at the prehistoric period of the 9-county Hoosier National Forest Region from 12,000 B.C. to 1650. This 87-page book has 126 pictures and drawings. As in the previous book, copies were distributed to schools and libraries. A limited number of free copies are still available of this publication. |
