Hoosier National Forest Research

In the 2006 Forest Plan, we identified and amended current research needs. This built on the research initiated and identified in the 1991 Forest Plan.  Through partnerships and other efforts, most of these needs are being addressed. Listed below are the research activities grouped into the needs as identified. Some research studies are still in progress. A list of research is linked to each category below.

Conservation of Threatened and Endangered Species

Provide a Visually Pleasing Landscape

Maintain and Restore Sustainable Ecosystems

Provide for Recreation in Harmony with Natural Communities

Maintain and Restore Watershed Health

Provide a Useable Landbase

Protect our Heritage Resources

Provide for Human and Community Development
