End-Of-Season Closures on the Coeur d'Alene River Ranger District

Recreation managers on the Coeur d’Alene River Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests are announcing several end-of-season closures that will affect Forest users.
Beginning Sunday, September 13, 2009, all concessionaire operated campgrounds on the Coeur d’Alene River Ranger District will close including:
- Beauty Creek
- Bell Bay
- Mokins Bay
- Kit Price
- Devil’s Elbow
- Big Hank
- Berlin Flats
Also, the Shoshone Dump Station will close on September 13, 2009. Shoshone Park Picnic Pavilion will close on September 8, 2009, following the Labor Day weekend.
Note: Bumblebee Meadows will remain open as long as conditions allow for camping without resource damage. Also, access to dispersed campsites will remain open unless access routes are under seasonal closures.
The following single-track trails will be closed from September 20 through December 3, 2009:
- Forest Trail #227 (Pleasant Creek)
- Forest Trail #257 (Beauty–Carlin)
The following ATV routes will be closed beginning September 1, 2009:
Preferred firewood areas to close on September 8, 2009, include:
- Forest Road #1586 (Capitol Hill area) and
- Forest Road #3100 (Unknown Pony area) on the east side of the district.
Note: Two preferred firewood cutting areas will remain open: Forest Road #2337 (Kelly Mountain) and Forest Road #2339 (Treasure Mountain) on the west side of the district.
