Kaibab Lake Campground

Friday, August 10, 7:30 pm - Movie Night: “A Thousand Invisible Cords.” Can an entire landscape be changed by one gene in one plant or animal? Thirty years of interdisciplinary research by Dr. Tom Whitham and NAU scientists say yes, and this 2015 film follows the scientific journey that came to this conclusion. You will never look at a tree in the same way! Please bring a chair if you do not want to sit on the amphitheater bench. Popcorn provided.

Saturday, August 11, 7:00 pm - “The Life Cycle of a Tree.” From seed to sprout to maturity to decay – learn what enables trees to grow and mature to create vast forests. A general discussion on the growth of trees, followed by specifics on Arizona trees.

Dogtown Lake Campground

Saturday, August 11, 7:00 pm -“The Web of Life in the Forest.” Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the ponderosa pines and Gambel oaks, and discover the connections above and below ground. Appropriate footwear is recommended.

White Horse Lake Campground

Saturday, August 11, 7:00 pm - Nature Walk (about 45 minutes) Explore the worlds of water and forest of White Horse. All ages welcome! Please wear appropriate footwear.
