Motor Vehicle Use Map Update Project

OHV use stakeholders listen to an on site demonstration on the LNF in October 2017.

LNF specialists and OHV stakeholders gather on a forest road during an Oct. 2017 field trip.

The Lassen National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map Update Project is a concerted effort to enhance OHV recreation on the Lassen National Forest (LNF) in Butte, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta and Tehema counties in California. With the 2010 LNF Travel Management Plan (TMP) as a guide, grassroots OHV groups as well as other interested parties and stakeholders are working with Lassen NF specialists to develop a viable action plan that will facilitate the process of accomplishing this objective.

The current focus of this effort is to develop a collaboratively supported proposed action that will serve to provide enhanced OHV experiences while maintaining the integrity of the TMP and the natural resources involved. The specialists have nearly completed the preliminary work and hope to announce the proposed action in May 2018. We encourage interested parties to comment as appropriate and bring your energy to this valuable project.
