Turkey Fire 90% Contained

Cause:  Lightning

Resources Assigned: 1 Interagency Hotshot Crew, 1 engine

Summary:  Due to the quick response by firefighters, the lightning-caused Turkey Fire is 90% contained. On Monday afternoon one hotshot crew and one engine crew hiked to the fire in the White Mountain Wilderness and starting building direct line to suppress the fire. Throughout the night, all lines held.

On July 3rd the fire wass smoldering and creeping with low fire behavior. Resources will continue to complete fireline and mop up around the fire perimeter.
