Fire Restrictions Lifted on the Lincoln National Forest

Alamogordo, NM – July 23, 2020– With the onset of monsoon season, the US Forest Service has rescinded fire restrictions on the Lincoln National Forest on all three districts. Easing of restrictions means that Lincoln National Forest visitors can again have campfires. The Fire Danger Rating has now dropped from High to Moderate.

“Even though we’ve had rain, people still need to be careful with fire,” said Laura Rabon, Public Affairs Officers. “It’s imperative that campers fully extinguish campfires before leaving a campsite.”

Thank you for your interest in the Lincoln National Forest.
