Forest Visitor Maps

The Lolo National Forest consists of five district maps. These maps and others for forests in the Northern Region are available for purchase at our offices, or click on the map picture to purchase a map online at the USGS Store or on the links below the picture to purchase a digital GeoPDF to use with the Avenza App on mobile devices. Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs)

October 2020 - The Lolo National Forest’s Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM) have been updated. Click on the MVUM link below to download the new maps or visit a Lolo National Forest District office to pick up free copies.

 

Over Snow Vehicle Use Maps (OSVUMs)

The Lolo National Forest’s Over Snow Vehicle Use Maps (OSVUM) are now the official map for over snow vehicle use. Click on the links below to download the new maps or visit a Lolo National Forest District office to pick up free copies. Using GeoPDFs

If you own a mobile device such as an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Android (4.0.3 or newer), you can take the Lolo National Forest Visitor Maps and MVUMs with you.
 

1. Download the free Avenza PDFMaps app, available at http://www.avenza.com/pdf-maps to your mobile device.

2. Once you have Avenza on your mobile device, use your device to download the maps at pdf-maps.com while running the app select 'Get Maps' and search for "Lolo National Forest Visitor " for the four different districts or search for “Lolo MVUM” to download MVUMs for Missoula, Ninemile, Plains/Thompson Falls, Seeley Lake and Superior Ranger Districts.

With the app and maps installed on your mobile device, you will be able to:

• View your location on the PDF MVUM using the built-in GPS device

Through a no-cost contract with Avenza Systems, Inc., the USDA Forest Service has made electronic versions of its Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs) available as free downloads for smartphones and tablets.
