Los Padres announces opening of River Road to Red Rock Day Use Area

On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 8 a.m., the Santa Barbara Ranger District of the Los Padres National Forest in cooperation with the Parks Management Company, will open River Road in the Lower Santa Ynez Recreation Area. River Road accesses several day use areas up to the popular Red Rock Day Use Area. The road has been closed for the winter due to high water and road damage from winter rains. Los Padres National Forest is asking the public to use caution while driving on the roads as the First Crossing is a loose gravel crossing and there is still quite a bit of water coming down the river.
