Urban Lot Watershed Restoration

Watershed restoration projects are implemented on urban lots to improve the soil and water resources. Typical projects include eradication of unauthorized roads, erosion control, soil stabilization, re-vegetation and reforestation of disturbed or barren areas.

photo: This photo shows a wide, downhill slope resembling a dirt road, with trees on either side. The photo overlooks houses in the Heavenly area and has the lake in the background.
This urban lot has a large area of exposed soil with no vegetation caused by winter snow sledding and off highway vehicle use.

photo: This photo shows the same urban lot after completion of a watershed restoration project. There are now logs placed diagonally across the slope the whole way down, and large boulders at the top of the slope and a log fence at the bottom of the slope are visible.
