Lands in Transition

Prepare yourself for an interactive learning exercise that will help you understand more about the history of the Lake Tahoe Basin, how people and fire have affected the Tahoe forests, and what this means for today's forests.

Lands in Transition presents a series of questions and feedback that lead you into the role of Forest Manager; a position entrusted with the stewardship of the forests.  With the help of experts in the field, you will make hard decisions that try to balance the interest of the public and the health of the environment. Follow the link provided below to access the "Lands in Transition" presentation.

This presentation is excellent for children and is made possible through a cooperation with the Peter R. Gould Center for Geography Education and Outreach, Department of Geography at Pennsylvania State University and the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) of the U.S. Forest Service.
