Fuelwood Permits

A valid permit is required prior to collecting and removing any forest products, including fuelwood, from National Forest Lands. Utah State law also requires proof  of  product  ownership to collect and transport forest products from state, private, and federal lands in Utah. Violaters may be cited under State and Federal law.

The Ferron/Priceand Sanpete Ranger Districts, will begin selling fuelwood permits beginning June 1, 2018 until Nov. 30, 2018. Fuelwood permits will be available at $5 per cord. The minimum value of permits sold is $20, the maximum amount is $50, or 10 cords. Permits for fuelwood and other forest products can be purchased at the Ferron/Price District Office, 115 West Canyon Road, Ferron, UT; at the Supervisor's Office, 599 W. Price River Drive, Price, UT; at the Sanpete District Office, 540 N. Main, Ephraim, UT 84627.

Moab/Monticello Ranger Districts (435) 259-7155 or (435) 587-2041

The Manti-La Sal National Forest began issuing permits for fuelwood and other forest products on the Moab and Monticello Ranger Districts May 7, 2018 and will continue until Nov. 30, 2018.

Fuelwood will be available at $5 per cord for the standard permit or $10 per cord for Gambel oak. The minimum value of permit sold is $20.  Permits for fuelwood and other forest products can be purchased at Forest Service offices at 62 East 100 North, P.O.
