Wyatt Nature Trail Repair Near Marlinton

Marlinton Ranger District Youth Conservation Corps Crew and Recreation Staff Repair Wyatt Nature Trail Near Marlinton

Marlinton’s Wyatt Nature Trail (TR488) was one of many trails that were significantly damaged during the June 2016 flood. This past summer Recreation staff were able to repair this community-oriented trail by constructing a rock retaining wall and re-graveling a quarter-mile of the trail in two separate stages. Special thanks to Robert Jackson, Pam Burns, trail crew members Kyler Doss and Adam Irvine, and the YCC crew for their time and effort in seeing this project through!

A rutty, rocky path is washed away in some areas as it winds through the forest.

A wide bed of new gravel is laid along a trail under a green canopy.
