“Travels with Darley” Visits Monongahela National Forest

Darley learns about ecology from Rosanna Springston at Cranberry Glades Botanical Area, which protects the largest area of bogs in West Virginia.

Watch for an upcoming episode of the PBS show “Travels with Darley” titled "Finger Lakes and Monongahela National Forests".

The show takes viewers around the world with Emmy Award-winning host Darley Newman to experience culture, cuisine, history and outdoor adventure.

Episode 504 features Trout Unlimited's cold water native brook trout habitat restoration efforts in West Virginia. Darley visits an old-growth spruce forest teeming with life and fishes with Trout Unlimited's Dustin Wichterman in the Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area.  

In the second half of the episode, Darley visits New York's Finger Lakes National Forest. She visits the Queen’s Castle to learn about the women’s suffrage movement and goes horseback riding, hiking, sailing and wine tasting in the Finger Lakes.

West Virginia PBS will begin season five of “Travels with Darley" Saturday, June 23 at 12:30 p.m. Episode 504 "Finger Lakes and Monongahela National Forests” featuring West Virginia will be aired Saturday, July 14 at 12:30 p.m. This information is subject to change at the discretion of West Virginia PBS.
