Fire Closure Orders
During fire season, the Forest Supervisor may sign an official closure order - a document which officially closes roads, trails, and other defined areas within the National Forest - due to fire activity for public safety and other reasons. They can be found on our Public Notices page and are listed below by district. Some closures may cross over into multiple forest districts.If you need assistance or have questions about a forest closure order, feel free to contact your local ranger district or forest office.

Fire Prevention and Readiness: Be Fire Wise!
The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests and other local agencies work together to provide fire prevention tips and prevention information to the public. During an active fire season, we share information about local programs and meetings on the Idaho Firewise Fire Prevention and Readiness page in addition to the usual fire prevention information.
