Forest Service extending open season for some campgrounds

The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests has chosen to extend this year's open season for some Forest Service campgrounds to accommodate forest visitors who want to take advantage of late season camping opportunities.

On the Moose Creek Ranger District, O’Hara Campground will remain open until Monday, Sept. 17.

On the Palouse Ranger District, Laird Park Campground and Giant White Pine Campground will remain open through Columbus Day weekend. Gates will close on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Seasonal campgrounds on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests close at various different times in late summer and early autumn. Other campgrounds on the forest are open year–‘round, but may not always be accessible due to snow.
