Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests to transition to electronic mailing lists for forest project updates

KAMIAH, Idaho (March 27, 2020) – To reduce costs, lessen environmental impacts, and further outreach planning information, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is transitioning to the use of electronic mailing lists, rather than postal mail, for all updates regarding forest management projects. Beginning in April, the forest will start using the GovDelivery email notification system to send updates to those interested in being involved in the planning process for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects on the forest.

“GovDelivery participants can choose to subscribe to updates for specific projects or for all projects on the forest, and then modify their subscription at any time to help them remain informed or engaged in environmental analysis for projects locally and nationwide,” explained Zoanne Anderson, Environmental Coordinator with the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Electronic delivery provides subscribers immediate access to downloadable project documents that are then easy to share with others. Electronic delivery will also reduce the number of unwanted letters and extra copies of large documents. Paper copies and CDs of digital project information may still be requested on a case by case basis.

To sign up for GovDelivery and take advantage of new electronic notifications, please visit and insert your email address into the sign–up field under the “Get Involved” header.

The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests’ current postal mailing list will be retired in May. After that date, subscribers should not expect to receive project notifications by postal mail. Those interested in remaining a postal subscriber must re-submit their contact information by sending a letter to: NPCLWNF GovDelivery, 903 3rd St., Kamiah, ID 83536.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Zoanne Anderson at or (208) 963-4209. The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests thanks the public for their continued interest and involvement in the project planning process.
