- October 16, 2018: A new Croatan National Forest closure map was produced by the GIS personnel on site this week. It shows the current status of road and recreation area closures. The roads marked in red are closed to all travel; those marked in orange are closed to vehicles but may be accessed by foot, bicycle or horse. All recreation areas remain closed. - October 15, 2018: Cedar Point, Flanners Beach and Oyster Point campgrounds are closed until December 1, 2018, due to damage from Hurricane Florence. Refunds for reservations will be done through recreation.gov and not by the Croatan National Forest.
- October 13, 2018: Millis Road and Pringle Road on the Croatan National Forest reopened to all vehicles after Hurricanes Florence and Michael. Millis Road reopened from the east end to where it intersects with South Gulley Branch Road. The west end of Millis Road will remain closed due to ongoing need for additional repairs. The Pringle Road reopened from HWY 24 to the Millis Road junction.

- October 1, 2018: Current closures on the Croatan National Forest.
- September 27, 2018: Barricades have been placed to prevent the public from accessing roads damaged by Hurricane Florence. These roads include Brice, Pringle, Siddie Fields, Great Lake and Millis Roads. Forest Service Law Enforcement Officers have closed these roads to all foot and motorized traffic for the protection of health and public safety. We apologize for any inconvenience.
- September 25, 2018: The public should call the Croatan Florence Response line to report damage on the Croatan National Forest at (252) 379-2488 or emailing detailed information to croatanflorenceresponse@gmail.com. For information about openings and closures call the Croatan National Forest office at (252) 638-5628.
- September 23, 2018: The Croatan National Forest is closing Millis and Great Lake Roads as a result of significant damage from Hurricane Florence.

- September 11, 2018: Due to Hurricane Florence, the U.S. Forest Service has decided to close down all campgrounds on the Croatan National Forests beginning Wednesday, September 12. This includes the temporary suspension of creating reservations on www.recreation.gov. Cancelled reservations will be refunded by the reservation service. The health, safety, and well-being of the public and visitors to our National Forests is of our number one priority and this decision is intended to keep our recreation users safe during Hurricane Florence.
