Ocala National Forest offers Christmas Tree Permits

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 25, 2019—The U.S. Forest Service will again sell Christmas tree permits starting today to those who want a tree from the Ocala National Forest. Trees are available until Tuesday, Dec. 24. 

Permits may be purchased Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Seminole and Lake George Ranger District offices. All permit holders will receive directions and maps to the designated tree cutting area(s) at the time of purchase. The cost is $7 per tree.   

To receive a permit through the mail, print and fill out a permit application and send a personal check or money order payable to the USDA Forest Service and mail to:

While cutting your Christmas tree, consider spending the day exploring the Ocala National Forest.  Weather in December is mild and it's a great time to enjoy a hike or picnic. Maps showing various recreation activities are available at the district offices.
