Methow Valley RD Conditions Home | Roads | Trails

Caution, be aware of your surroundings: watch out for hazard trees or down trees, black ice, and be prepared for new snow.  Please report any road problems to our district office at 509-996-4000.

When campgrounds are accessible, Methow Valley Ranger District Campgrounds are available on a first come first serve basis only. Sites must be occupied and cannot be saved or reserved, even with advanced payment. Any unoccupied sites without someone actually staying there must be available for the next camper. 2 vehicles per site maximum (posted fee per night for first vehicle, plus an additional $5.00 per night for the second vehicle). 2 tents or 1 RV and 1 tent per site maximum. Fees for camping must be paid within 1/2 hour. "Check-out" time is noon.

Seasonal potable water systems are usually turned off in the campgrounds from September through May, bring drinking water. Please pack out your garbage. Campground fees apply when the fee signs are posted. Forest Service roads are not plowed in the  winter months so campgrounds are not maintained (there maynot be toilet paper). Most Forest Service roads become groomed snowmobile routes, closed to motorized wheeled vehicles from December 1 to April 1 blocking access to campgrounds.

Some campsites maybe marked with red flagging and will be closed until hazard trees are removed.
