Cle Elum Ranger District, Trails
Cle Elum RD Conditions Home | Campgrounds | Roads
NOTE: Trail conditions are updated when information becomes available: last update May 30, 2023.
Early Spring conditions. Most trails are snow covered and may be inaccessible.
Table Mountain Motorized Closure is in effect annually from October 15 - June 15: Single track and double track trails (jeep/ATV) are closed to motorized use to protect elk habitat, mating, migration and calving. This closure is lifted in the summer until the October 15, 2022 closure date returns.
All other ORV (single track and double track) trails are closed each winter until June 15, or until conditions permit. However, much seasonal maintenance still needs to occur.
The US Forest Service coordinates with many volunteer groups who donate countless hours in Wilderness, non-motorized and motorized areas.

4WD and ATV Trails
4WD and ATV trails are designed and maintained for short wheel-based 4WD vehicles (such as Jeeps). Difficulty levels change according to and are dependent on operator skill level, type of vehicle, trail conditions and weather. It is very important that the user obtains and carries a Cle Elum Ranger District ORV map when venturing on these trails. Please contact the Cle Elum Ranger District if you have any questions about ORV trails, regulations and information on specific trails.
In addition to the district's ATV trail (ATV 30), ATV's are allowed on all 4x4 trails. It is not legal to operate ATV's on Forest Service roads. Motorized cross-country travel off roads and trails is prohibited.
