Current Activity

Crescent Mountain Fire: Yesterday a spot fire became established south of War Creek and the fire continued to burn actively in Reynolds Creek, spreading west into the Wilderness. Firefighters were able to hold the fire in the area north of Poplar Flat using heavy helicopters. Today, firefighters will continue to mop up and secure fireline along Buttermilk Road, reinforce the contingency line along Slate Creek and Scaffold Ridge, and use aerial resources to slow the fire progress south of War Creek.

McLeod Fire: The fire burned actively and grew significantly on all edges of the fire yesterday. Firefighters continued to prepare Eightmile Road and arterial roads and trails for tactical burning consideration. Crews are thinning fuels and searching for suitable areas to use as control and contingency lines to the south and west of the fire.

Doe Fire: As 100% mop-up is achieved on this fire, resources will shift to the McLeod Fire.

Evacuations: A Level 2 evacuation is in effect for the area west of Little Bridge Creek Road. Level 2 means prepare now in the event an evacuation is necessary.  No evacuations are currently in effect for the McLeod or Doe Fires. Check the evacuation status often for the most current information.
