Icicle Road Reopens after Mudslide Debris Removed

Icicle Road No. 7600 re-opens today after being closed by a mudslide since September 4.

Recreationists can once again access all campgrounds, trailheads and national forest access points along Icicle Road.

The road has been closed at the Fourth of July Trailhead, about 11 miles west of Leavenworth, due to a debris slide caused by thunderstorms on September 4. Both lanes of the road were blocked by logs, large rocks and mud.

Motorists will need to use caution and follow signed directions when traveling through the mudslide area as only one lane of traffic is currently open around the slide.
