Milsap Bar campground access temporarily closed

Release Date: Jan 12, 2017

Trees and debris blocking road

Quincy, CA – January 12, 2017 – The Milsap Bar road (Forest Service road #22N62), has been temporarily closed in two locations making Milsap Bar campground & river access (northern Butte County) completely inaccessible; there is no alternate access.

From the west, 22N62 is closed at the Forest Service sign, approximately five miles from the intersection of Butte County Road 44605A.  The eastern closure is at the intersection of 22N62 and the Hartman Bar Road (Forest Service road # 22N94). Both closures are due to slides.

A repair estimate, including timeframe, will be developed when road conditions improve and crews are able to assess the damage.

Forest visitors are urged to avoid using wet, muddy roads to limit damage to themselves, their vehicles and to road surfaces.
