Plumas NF – Mt. Hough Trail – temporary closure

-vegetation removal project in progress-

QUINCY, Calif. – The Mt. Hough Trail is temporarily closed through the third week in June, 2018 (estimate) due to an active vegetation removal project in the area.

The project is part of the Empire fuel break (also called a defensible fuel profile zone or DFPZ) designed to create a healthier forest and to provide a safer firefighting zone should an uncontrolled wildfire approach American Valley (Plumas County, CA).

The project is north of Quincy on the south side of Mt. Hough. Pictures are available at: www.Facebook.com/usfsplumas .

For information about other trails in the area, call the Mt. Hough Ranger District at (530) 283-0555 or visit the Plumas NF website at: www.fs.usda.gov/plumas/.
