Sycamore Fire - June 1, Final Update

The Sycamore Fire which was reported on Monday, May 28 burning in the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness (T19N, R4E, Sec 31) reported little fire behavior yesterday.  The Sycamore Fire is approximately 230 acres with 90% containment; burning pinyon juniper and grass.  Firefighters were successful in continuing to secure and mop up the fire perimeter throughout a red flag wind event that thoroughly test control lines yesterday.  Full containment of the fire is expected today with resources being reassigned or released.  Firefighting resources remaining on the Sycamore Fire include 1 – Helicopter, 1 - Crew and 1 Engine.   

 

Reminder – The Prescott National Forest implemented an Area Closure on the Bradshaw Ranger District on Friday, June 1.  All Prescott National Forest lands outside the area closure will remain in Stage II Fire Restrictions.
