Firefighters Respond to Small Wildfire

Prescott National Forest firefighters, along with several units from the Prescott Fire Department responded to a 1/10 acre fire approximately 5 miles south and west of Prescott (T13N, R3W, S14).  The Cold Fire was reported at about 10:15 today off Copper Basin Road, near UCYC Camp, previously Camp Tepeyac.  The fire was started when a log loader had a mechanical malfunction and exploded.  No structures are threatened and there we no injuries as a result of explosion. 

 

The Cold Fire is contained and crews will continue to monitor the remainder of today.
