Bradshaw Ranger District Recreation Sites Update

Contact(s): Debbie Maneely, (928) 443-8130

The Bradshaw Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest reports that due to staffing shortages, opening date for Yavapai Campground, in the Granite Basin Recreation Area has been pushed back to May 1, 2019.

Lynx Lake Recreation Area is experiencing water system issues and will be closing the flush toilets in an effort to conserve water but the vault toilets throughout the recreation area will remain open.  Hours for day use sites are currently 7am to 7pm.

The handicap deck near the South Shore Boat Ramp is under water due to high water conditions this year.  The Forest is uncertain when the water will recede and allow the forest to clean up and make any repairs necessary to the deck.

Other hazards on the forest include dry creek beds that are running even with a small amount of moisture as the ground is saturated.

Campgrounds currently open on the Bradshaw Ranger District, include White Spar Campground and Alto Pit.  Dispersed camping is available but please be sensitive to wet roads and the damage that travel on saturated dirt roads can cause.
