Cimarron National Grassland prepares for annual Fishing Derby in June

ELKHART, Kansas, May 15, 2018 - Grab your fishing poles and get ready for the 28th Annual Santa Fe Trail Fishing Derby. This is a free event for kids age 0-16 and adults age 55 and over.

Join us for a fun day of fishing and food on Saturday, June 2 at the Cimarron National Grassland Recreation Area in Morton County.  Registration is at the gate as you enter and fishing will begin promptly at 8:00 am with weigh-in from 11:30 am until Noon. 

A free hot dog lunch will be provided with awards following. The largest fish in the various age categories and overall will be awarded a prize.
