Untrammeled

Back Country Horsemen and Montana youth travel on horseback to the top of Red MountainUntrammeled is an inspiring 27-minute film about passing the torch for wilderness to the next generation.  Filmed in Montana’s Scapegoat and Bob Marshall Wilderness areas, it features Montana high school and college age youth, as they experience wilderness, some for the very first time. 

The film was produced by the U.S. Forest Service, Northern Region, in partnership with Back Country Horsemen of Montana, local outfitters, the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Training Center, Wilderness Institute University of Montana, Montana Wilderness Association, Missoula Public Schools, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Education Department and others. 

Produced for the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, it will be featured at wilderness celebrations occurring throughout the nation

September 5 & 6 – Seeley Lake: Jack and the film Untrammeled at the Montana Wilderness Association’s Wild 50th Fest.  Jack will perform Sept. 5 at 7:00 PM on Lindey’s Prime Steakhouse lawn.  Untrammeled shows on Sept. 6 at 2:00 PM in the dining room at Lindey’s Steakhouse.  Information: Laura, 406-443-7350, ext.110

September 13 – Fort Peck: Jack will perform at the Fort Peck Interpretive Center at 7:00 PM.  Information: Mark, 406-453-9434

September 19 - Helena: Jack will perform in front of the Capitol Building, 12:00 – 1:00 PM (or inside the Capitol Rotunda if inclement weather). Untrammeled will be played numerous times inside the Capitol Building from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. For more information: John at 406-439-0225

September 20 - Missoula:  Jack and Rob Quist will headline at Silver Park Pavillion at 12:30 PM. Bring lawn chairs!  Welcome band kicks off event at 11:00 AM with numerous 50th Anniversary events throughout the day, traditional skills demonstrations and food vendors on site until 4:00 PM.  Information: Joni, 406-329-3187
