BAER

Numerous BAER contracts have been awarded thus far. Snow and snowmelt are hindering operations in some fire areas but implementation crews are making great progress where conditions allow.

Mushrooms

Visit the Northern Region mushroom webpage for current management information. Mushrooms have been reported in most of the lower elevation fire areas, and commercial pickers have already setup in some commercial camping areas. The Lolo has reported selling over 200 commercial permits, and the Kootenai has reported selling just over 180 commercial permits. Both Forests have administered hundreds of personal use permits. Remember to watch out for safety hazards while recreating in burned areas!
