Christmas Tree Permits - Proposed Fee Increase

Carrying a tree out can be hard work! The Forest Service is proposing to raise the cost of a Christmas tree cutting permit to $20 per tree starting in 2018 to provide better services to enhance this holiday tradition.

Revenue from Christmas tree permits could provide additional staff to sell permits on weekends; restroom facilities; snow plowing services; educational activities; the necessary items you need to find and cut that special tree such as maps and directional signs; and other enhancements depending on the area.

Please tell us what you think about this holiday activity, the facilities and services provided, and the Christmas tree permit fee increase proposal.
