ESA Streamlining
|
Welcome to this interagency website developed collaboratively by the U.S. Forest Service (Rocky Mountain Region, R2), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Mountain-Prairie Region, R6), National Park Service (Intermountain Region), and Bureau of Land Management (CO and WY) for the Endangered Species Act streamlining initiative in Colorado and Wyoming. The streamlining initiative is based on a simple premise of higher levels of communication, collaboration, and information-sharing among the agencies as we strive to make our consultations increasingly more efficient as a required regulatory process and effective in conserving plants and animals protected by the Endangered Species Act in our land management. The site is hosted and maintained by the interagency Regional Coordination and Technical Team and houses background materials and helpful resources for our personnel to continue to learn about ESA section 7 requirements and explore ways to improve our interagency consultations. Many of the resources here will also likely be of broader interest to practitioners in ESA consultations beyond the two states. Comments on how to improve the content and organization of this website are always welcome. |
