Arizona Zone

    Forest health specialist with the AZ office since 2015. Responsibilities include GIS program for Arizona zone Forest Health unit, aerial detection surveys, technical support, and field assistance. Special interest and experience working with seed and cone insects of Southwestern white pine.

    Forest entomologist with the AZ office since July 2014. Primary responsibility is providing technical assistance on bark beetle management to land managers. Previously was assistant research professor at Northern Arizona University. Research topics included how drought and restoration treatments impact tree susceptibility to southwestern pine bark beetles.

    Forest entomologist with the AZ office since October 2011. Responsibilities include monitoring and projects with defoliating insects, providing technical assistance to land managers, and conducting aerial detection surveys.
  • Nick Wilhelmi, (928) 556-2075
    Forest pathologist for the AZ office since January 2017. Responsibilities include monitoring and projects related to forest diseases as well as providing technical assistance on the management of forest diseases to land managers.

New Mexico Zone

    NM Zone Leader since October 2019. Formerly forest entomologist with the NM office since October 2010. Previously worked on research on spruce ips in Alaska and Jeffrey pine beetle in California. Special interest and experience with thousand canker disease in walnut.
  • Greg Reynolds, (505) 842-3288
    Plant pathologist, New Mexico Zone since January 2017. Primary responsibility is providing technical assistance on forest disease management to the National Forests, tribal lands, and other federal land managers in New Mexico. Greg also manages the hazard tree program for all of our customers.

    Forest health and GIS specialist with the NM office since 2003. Responsibilities include GIS program for New Mexico, aerial detection surveys, technical support, and field assistance. Involved with the national insect and disease risk map project to project future risk of forest mortality from insect and disease activity.

    Forest health coordinator with the NM office since September 2008. Responsibilities include aerial detection surveys, aviation safety & training coordination, and field assistance to staff.
