Apply for a CFRP Grant (Request for Application)

Application Due Date has been extended until March 8, 2019.

2019 CFRP Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. MST on March 8, 2019.

The U.S. Forest Service Southwestern Region anticipates distributing cost-share grants to carry out forest restoration projects on public lands in New Mexico pending federal appropriations. Projects must be designed through a collaborative process that includes affected communities and other stakeholders. Applications will be evaluated in an open federal advisory committee.

Applicants must submit the two PDF documents described in Section IV. Applications received after 5:00 p.m. will not be accepted.

Note: Your forest coordinator is generally determined by the area where the majority of the proposed work will be conducted.

Two documents have been developed in order to assist the applicants in the application process. These documents are mentioned throughout the Request for Application. These are for optional use.

  • Executive Summary and Project Narrative (MS Word)
    When completed, this document must not exceed 12 pages. If using another option for Executive Summary and Narrative, that document must not exceed 10 pages.
  • Detailed Budget Justification and Narrative (MS Excel)
    A detailed budget for each project year and budget object category is required. Provide a breakdown showing detailed unit costs and descriptions that clarify the line item amounts shown on form SF-424A.
