North Zone Fire Cache - Returns
Cache Returns Guidelines:
- All supplies being demobilized from an incident are to be documented on a waybill (see Forms below).
- To help facilitate the return process, supplies being demobilized back to the cache should be divided as NRFI (Not Ready for Issue, or used) and RFI (Ready for Issue, or unused) and packaged separately.
- Only rolled hose will be accepted.
- Sensitive or “Trackable” items requiring refurbishment should be returned as soon as possible.
- Always document ID#’s on waybills for these types of items.
- An AD-112 is required for any trackable items that are lost, stolen, or unserviceable (see Forms below).
- An incident will be closed 45 days after the local unit takes control.
- To request a copy of the incident Loss/Use Report, contact the cache by email or phone.
- Cache Demob Specialists (CDSP's) should be coordinated through the cache directly.
Trucks and trailers should be loaded properly and Hazardous Materials packaged and loaded according to the “HazMat Driver Checklist” below. Take extra care to ensure the stability of the load both in transit and for safe unloading at the destination. Many injuries may be avoided by ensuring heavier items are loaded on the bottom and that loose items are secured so as not to shift and block the door or injure someone upon opening the door.
Here are some examples of unacceptable returns to the cache:
